Press Conference:

The goal of Miami 1000 is to secure 1,000 jobs in targeted urban areas. Emphasis will be placed on promoting innovation, technology, training and strengthening black owned tech firms. The movement started in Ferguson MO where Dr. Lance McCarthy and Ray Lewis envisioned a disruption of the job fair with a hiring event. The press conference will highlight local collaboration of this effort featuring leaders from the City of Miami, Miami Gardens and North Miami

Collectively, these have brought together business leaders, faith-based organizations, investors as well as venture capitalists all in the name of strengthening communities and families.

Black Tech Round Table – CIC/Technology Incubator

The Black Tech Round Table will allow local tech firms to discuss their growth strategy and objectives. Local firms will be highlighted and firms will gain exposure to venture capitalist and other financial resources in the workshops to follow.

The Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) has partnered with the Miami-Dade Police Department, Digit All City, Hood Weekend, the Jada Page Foundation and The Urban League of Greater Miami to present the “Computers for Guns and Community Peace Celebration” event in association with Black Tech Week on Saturday, October 7, 2017. The inaugural event will take place in North and South Dade at Gwen Cherry and Goulds parks at the same time.
